Current Members & The Characters We Portray
Juanita
Daley: I enjoy pets, people, and the Old West. I first became
interested in the Wild West watching Gail Davis as Annie Oakley on TV
every afternoon when I was a small girl. I wanted to bring the Old West to
life, so I started our group Annie Oakley & Company, and to this day
after sixteen years this group has become The Bulls Eye of Success. |
|
Annie
Oakley: (1860-1926) Born Phoebe Ann Mosey, and starting from
humble Quaker origins in Darke County, Ohio, Annie rose to the heights of
renown as a world famous sharpshooter and was a featured performer
with Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. She excelled in a man's sport but
never lost her feminine appeal. (Sayers) |

Col.
William F. Cody (Buffalo Bill):(1846-1917)
He was a Pony Express rider, Civil War combatant, scout for the army, and
Indian fighter. As a hunter supplying buffalo meat for railroad builders,
Cody earned the nickname "Buffalo Bill." Dime novels about his
adventures won him fame, as did the Wild West shows he operated. (Murray

Harry
Knight: Reliving history is one reason playing the part of Wild Bill
Hickok is satisfying. I also enjoy historic railroading which I believe
coincide closely with Old West history. Although not in the Wild West era,
antique farm tractors and old radio collecting are other great ways for me
to spend time. |

James
Butler (Wild Bill) Hickok:
(1837-1876) He was a hunting expedition guide, a brilliant pistol shot,
and a lawman in rough cattle towns. Hickok acted in a Wild West show and
on stage - playing himself. He was shot in the back in the mining town of
Deadwood, Dakota Territory. (Murray 50) |

Elza
Corrill: I have
a B.A. in Theater from Eastern Kentucky University, and I have been using
my experience to help direct the shows we put on. I also am the tech man,
and makeup artist for the group. When I am not working behind the scenes I
am portraying Annie's Husband and manager Frank Butler. |
|
Frank
Butler:
(1850-1926) Frank was an Irishman who emigrated to the United States when he was a
boy. He was a sharpshooter, and the story goes that he met Annie at a
shooting contest. Although Frank lost the contest he won Annie's heart and
they were soon married. Frank soon realized that Annie was a better shot
than he was and devoted himself to promoting Annie's career. |

Martha
Jane Cannary (Calamity Jane): (1848-1903) was born in Princeton,
Missouri. This hard drinking woman wore men's clothing, used their bawdy
language, chewed tobacco and was handy with a gun. She traveled from
Arizona through the Dakota territories during her rough life. At her
death, the "White Devil of the Yellowstone" was remembered as a
saint by the citizens of Deadwood, where she helped nurse the sick during
a smallpox plague. She is buried near Wild Bill Hickock at Deadwood, South
Dakota. (http://www.cowgirls.com/dream/cowgals/calamity.htm) |

Guest Appearances
Bruce
Dickey: I live
in Indiana, and by trade I am a Foundry pattern maker. The Old Wild West
intrigues me and sparks my imagination. I enjoy portraying characters like
Buffalo Bill Cody, Wild Bill Hickok, Texas Jack Omohundro and, doing Civil War reenactments. |
|
Texas
Jack Omohundro: (July 26, 1846 - June 28, 1880) Texas Jack
was born in Palmyra, Virginia. Texas Jack was at home on the
open plains, and began to become a favorite scout among the various
cavalry commanders due to his outstanding tracking and guiding
abilities, Cody and Omohundro appeared together in the stage show,
"Scouts of The Prairie," By late 1873, Wild Bill would
join the two showmen as one of the new primary leads in the renamed
production "Scouts of The Plains" Through out the remainder of the late 1870s, Texas Jack would
continue to perform in the theater. |

Mike
Dickey: I like
to play video games and ride my new scooter. I have been involved with the
show for several years helping behind the scenes and portraying the
character of Johnny Baker. I have an Associate Degree in Business Administration from
Indiana Business College. |
|
Johnny
Baker (The Cowboy Kid): (Jan. 13, 1869 - Apr. 12, 1931) An orphan born in North Platte.
Johnny begged to be taken to the Wild West Show, Cody agreed, and
let him throw glass balls for him to shoot. Later he was billed as
"The Cowboy Kid" and became a celebrated marksman, and the
adopted son of Buffalo Bill. (Burke 137) |
